We like sugars that are as close to their natural state as possible.  Whether it's agave, coconut flower, sugar cane, or stevia, the "whole plant" is utilized differently in the body than the plant's isolated sugar would be.  The whole plant contains not just the sugar, but also a whole slew of the molecules that reduce the glycemic impact, support the liver in processing the sugars, and provide minerals needed to convert sugar to energy.
